The Challenge
Socially distanced shopping during a world pandemic was a challenge Rosedale Center faced. Our goal was to motivate Rosedale Center shoppers to tune in and engage with our live streaming content on social media, as well as shop Rosedale Center store products. Through video, we were not only able to showcase that it’s safe to shop at the mall, but that Rosedale Center is a hub for fun and fashion.
The Campaign
For this campaign, Hubbard Interactive set up Facebook and Instagram Commerce Management. Using Facebook and Instagram ads, we promoted our live shopping event “Sleigh the Holidays” on Black Friday hosted by Sarah Edwards, and co-hosted by other local influencers such as Rammy, Lizanne Lately, and Mercedes Iman Diamond. We then filmed three, one hour live streams on Rosedale Center’s Instagram throughout Black Friday in a style similar to QVC but designed for Millennials. As viewers tuned into “Sleigh The Holidays Live”, they were able to shop featured products within the live stream and checkout directly from the Instagram app.
Simultaneously, we surprised shoppers on Black Friday with gift cards by drone. A drone was flown around the center giving away gift cards to unsuspecting shoppers for a variety of retailers throughout the day.
The Results
Our ads reached over 100,000 users informing them of our huge Black Friday event! Our “Sleigh the Holidays Live” earned over 50+ unique viewers which engaged with over 1000 comments. Rosedale Center sold 265 items attributing to $529.97 in sales. Additionally, we earned 131 new followers to the Rosedale Center Instagram page during the course of this campaign.
Our drone successfully dropped 6 gift cards totaling $600. The final drone footage posted by our drone partners earned 7,150+ views on Instagram so far.
The drone drops also earned the attention of the local news station KSTP.
